FANA Jewelry still runs a portion of its designs through hand-carved wax instead, choosing a slower, more labor-intensive path. This decision has nothing to do with nostalgia. The choice is visible in the final forms, and it represents the primary reason the brand joined our cases this season. The details below outline how that methodology shapes the jewelry, alongside a breakdown of the pieces currently available in our showroom.
From Sketch to Cast Metal
Every piece starts as a hand sketch. From there, the design path splits based on the requirements of the shape: some are carved directly into wax blocks, while others enter computer software. This division represents a practical choice regarding which tool best serves the aesthetic goal. A sculptor working in physical wax feels how metal flows around a gem in a way a computer screen cannot replicate. Conversely, digital modeling excels at tight, highly repetitive geometry, where a minor hand variance across dozens of identical facets would disrupt the symmetry.
Both routes eventually converge at the casting phase. The hand-carved wax model is encased in investment material and burned out. The digital file is printed into a high-resolution resin pattern, which then follows the exact same casting steps. The choice is made early on paper, long before the gold melts.
Porosity Control and Custom Alloys
Cast gold presents unique challenges during production, specifically regarding porosity. If a foundry cools the metal too quickly or fails to control the environment, tiny air pockets can become trapped inside the structure. Over time, those hidden pockets weaken the piece and compromise the metal surface, creating structural flaws that usually show up only after several years of wear. FANA Jewelry runs a proprietary casting process designed to eliminate these pockets, mixing custom alloys rather than purchasing generic, pre-blended casting grain.
Furthermore, their gold formulations are also built to avoid common allergens, with nickel-free compositions available upon request for customers managing a known sensitivity. Metal sensitivities rarely appear immediately; they tend to develop after weeks of repeated contact with everyday soaps, lotions, and trapped moisture beneath the band. A carefully controlled alloy lowers the odds of that kind of reaction, though no metal formulation can rule it out for every wearer.
How Stones Get Chosen and Set
The diamonds and colored gemstones selected undergo an internal inspection process that goes beyond the data listed on a laboratory grading certificate. Proportions are verified under multiple light sources. Two stones can share identical color and clarity grades on paper but perform differently when viewed live. If a stone lacks vibrancy in person, it is rejected regardless of the laboratory report.

The Post-Setting Inspection Process

Finally, a quality control specialist inspects the piece under a loupe to check prong tension and review the gallery details. Three-stone halo settings put more metal and stone surface around the center diamond, while the hidden-halo solitaires keep that extra sparkle tucked underneath, out of view from above. Also worth knowing is that several of these styles carry FANA Jewelry's maker's mark, a tiny sapphire set into the gallery where the band meets the head. Most people miss it at first glance.

The available band selection focuses on pieces designed for stacking or wearing alone:

Eternity Bands
FANA Jewelry's full eternity lineup spans 21 distinct styles across white, yellow, and rose gold. Total diamond weights range from delicate 0.44 carat accent bands up to substantial 3.6 carat statements.
Since eternity bands feature diamonds encircling the entire finger, they cannot be resized later. To ensure an absolute seamless fit alongside an existing engagement ring, we keep these as view-in-showroom pieces. We will measure your exact finger size and match the millimeter width and stone proportions directly against your current bridal stack before ordering your custom band from the vault.
Metal Maintenance
Everything in our current FANA curation is crafted in 14K gold, primarily in white and yellow, with rose gold showing up in a handful of the eternity band styles. Deciding between white and yellow comes down to lifestyle and taste, though the maintenance schedules differ. White gold obtains its bright appearance from a rhodium plating that naturally wears thin over a year or two of friction, requiring periodic polishing and replating to restore the original finish. Yellow gold skips this coating because the warm color exists throughout the alloy, reducing the need for ongoing surface maintenance over time. Rose gold behaves similarly to yellow in that regard, since its color also runs through the alloy rather than sitting on top of it.
